Alabama State Troopers say Donaldson died at Children's of Alabama Tuesday afternoon.

A celebration of life is planned for Thursday on the front lawn of the middle school. Those attending the event, which takes place from 7-8 p.m., are asked to wear green, Sophie's favorite color.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Al 141 and AL 166, also known as Danley Crossroads, about five miles from Elba. Six other people were injured.

According to Troopers, the first vehicle, which had 2 passengers, was a 2009 Honda Pilot driven by Wendy Donaldson, 39, of Opp. One of the passengers was transported by Life Flight to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The driver and second passenger were transported to the Medical center in Dothan to be treated for their injuries.

The second vehicle, which had 3 passengers, was a 2010 Ford Taurus driven by Timothy Moore, 39, of Nevada, Missouri. Moore was transported to the Medical center in Dothan and his passengers were transported to Opp Medical center to be treated for their injuries.

The third vehicle was a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Robert Marler, 43, of Jack. Marler was not injured in the accident.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
