DEMOPOLIS, AL (WSFA) -

A Prattville man has been arrested and is being charged with burglary after Demopolis Police say he burglarized a Subway restaurant.

According to police, 49-year-old Carl Worth Howell, Jr. is accused of burglarizing the business, located on Highway 80 East, where he is alleged to have stole cash from the safe.

Authorities say an investigation revealed DNA evidence left at the scene that tied Howell to the crime.

Howell is also suspected to be involved in several other burglaries across the state and is being investigated by other agencies.

He is currently being held in the Marengo County Detention Center.
