MPD investigates homicide after shooting death on S. Jackson St.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Montgomery Police Department says they are initiating a homicide investigation following the shooting death of 32-year-old Toney Hooks.

On Tuesday around 6:30 p.m., police responded to a call about a subject being shot near the 500 block of South Jackson Street. When they arrived officers located Hooks, who had suffered life-threatening injuries, pronouncing him dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and no additional details are being released at this time as the investigating continues.

Hook's was the 14 homicide for the City of Montgomery in 2014.
