TROY, AL (WSFA) -

The Troy Police Department arrested 20-year-old Rashaun Devante Thomas on Friday in connection to a robbery that occurred on Tuesday.

Thomas was arrested on Friday at 9:50 a.m. and charged with first degree robbery.

Police officers say they responded to the 600 block of Henderson Drive Tuesday night around 8:40 p.m. where they found the victim who said his car was stolen at gunpoint.

Investigators spotted the stolen vehicle within ten minutes and attempted a traffic stop. Thomas is said to have fled and a pursuit was started.

Officers chased Thomas until he hit a utility pole at the intersection of Griffin Street and Elm Street and fled the scene on foot.

Thomas was transported to the Troy City Jail for processing before being transported to the Pike County Jail. His bond is set to be $50,000.

This case is still under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
