HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office now has several military-type vehicles in their fleet.
Sheriff Ed Brady says they got the vehicles for free through a nationwide program that gives local agencies surplus military vehicles.
Henderson County received over a million dollars worth of equipment.
Brady says since the military has decreased overseas they've brought back a lot of military equipment to the US for use, here.
A lot of the vehicles Henderson got were used in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"This is the type of equipment that we would use to rescue, none of it's an attack vehicle," says Brady.
Sheriff Brady says these vehicles can also be used by surrounding law enforcement agencies if needed.
