Memphis students learn what it takes to work at the zoo

(WMC) - This summer about 25 high school juniors and seniors are working at the Memphis Zoo.

The students are part of a six-week program called Summer Explorers.

The program gives students a chance to learn about animal care, marketing, and much more. Students in the program get to glimpse a wide range of possible careers and learn a lot about the Memphis Zoo.

"Being in this internship, I've been exposed to numerous things including research and conservation, as well as working with guest here at the Memphis Zoo," one of this year's interns Jordan Smith said.

This summer's internship program wraps up Saturday with a grand finale for all of the interns to show what they've learned this year.
