Ben & Jerry's celebrates grand opening at Yankee Candle Village

SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Yankee Candle Village has added a special summer treat to their home location.

Saturday was the grand opening celebration for a brand new Western Massachusetts Ben & Jerry's.

The ice cream shop featured $1 cones for most of the day along with raffle prizes and a guest appearance by the company's co-founder Jerry Greenfield.

Organizers felt that the combination of both Yankee Candle and now Ben & Jerry's makes the shop an even more enticing year-round destination.

"We as a team always get together and think about what we can add new into our store," said Wade Bassett, director of sales and operations for Yankee Candle Village. "Everybody loves ice cream, so we partner with Ben & Jerry's and it was a really good opportunity for us to bring their iconic brand in to match up with ours. They're really famous for their flavors and we're famous for our fragrance so it's a great combination for us."

For those who missed the grand opening, there is no need to worry.

Ben & Jerry's has scoopers ready whenever Yankee Candle Village is open.
