LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The 17-year-old victim of a hit-and-run-incident that occurred on Lufkin’s Timberland Drive early Sunday morning is listed in critical condition at East Texas Medical Center-Tyler.

According to the Lufkin Police Department accident report, the 17-year-old was identified as Cameron Davis.

Davis and his friends Tony Blake and Kameron Moore were riding their bicycles south in the outside lane of the 500 block of Timberland Drive when his bicycle was struck by a vehicle that was also traveling south in the outside lane at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday. Davis’ bike did not have the proper safety equipment, according to the report, which said it didn’t have a headlight or a flash red light or reflectors on its rear.

Moore said they were one their way to McDonald's when his friend was hit.

""He hit him with the tip of the truck. He went flying one way and the bike was underneath the truck. He rolled over the bike and knocked his lights out and my friends shoe off of his foot. " Moore said.

The vehicle that left the scene was a white, 4-door Toyota Tundra pickup driven by a Hispanic male that was wearing glasses.

Davis was transported to Lufkin’s Memorial Hospital for treatment, and he was later airlifted to ETMC-Tyler.

The accident report stated that pieces of the vehicle were left at the scene of the accident. The pieces were matched to a 2003 or 2004 Toyota Tundra.

"The vehicle is missing the front passenger side assembly headlight and the Toyota emblem, and there might be additional paint damage,” said Sgt. Mike Shurley, a spokesman for the Lufkin Police Department.

Anyone with any information about this hit-and-run incident is urged to call the Lufkin Police Department at (936) 633-0356.
