A spokesman for Airbus noted it files several hundred patents "on a multitude of innovative concepts and designs" each year.
"However, not all of these ideas, new designs and technologies become final products; we do this to guard our team’s research efforts, and should the future of commercial aviation makes one of our patents relevant, then our work is protected," Airbus stated.

Ryanair was considering offering the economy seating for as low as 1 British pound.Copyright 2014 Raycom News Network. All rights reserved.
