MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Carr has been working steadily to become authorized since it was named an IB candidate school two years ago. It has also meant a lot of adjustments for teachers and students.

"It's been a lot of hard work," said Principal John Johnston. "Hats off to the teachers and the students and the parents, because they've put in a lot of hours to make this happen, so I'm extremely proud of the folks that work here, and the kids, because they've done some amazing work."

LAMP was officially authorized to offer the IB Diploma Program in February, and MacMillan was authorized to offer the IB Primary Years Program in May.

There are over 4,000 IB programs around the world including 19 in Alabama.
