MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A 16-year-old Montgomery resident is being charged with assault first degree with a motor vehicle after crashing a stolen vehicle head-on into a woman's vehicle, seriously injuring her.

The suspect, Martenz Howard, was fleeing police officers in a stolen vehicle when he slammed into Sandrekica Taylor's car. The woman suffered a broken femur and heel in the collision.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. on July 11 near the intersection of Upper Wetumpka Road and McCarter Street.

Howard was arrested and charged Tuesday. Court records also show he was taken before a magistrate judge.

Howard is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a bond of $30,000.
