Monroe County crash claims life of 12-day-old infant

MONROE COUNTY, AL (WSFA) -

A 12-day-old infant who was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Monroe County Sunday has died.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety, Easton Mixon was  injured when the 2000 Nissan Maxima he was a passenger in collided with a 2010 Jeep Commander.

The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Alabama 136 and Campground Road about two miles east of Excel.

Easton was transported to a hospital in Mobile where he died at 12:20 a.m. Monday.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
