MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Donations continue to pour in at the Montgomery Humane Society.

On July 28, humane society officials said the shelter had run out of dry dog food and was in urgent need of donations. After WSFA 12 News reported the shortage, viewers stepped up and came to the humane society's aid.

Multiple bags of dry dog food were donated by citizens in the River Region.

Manager Lea Turbert said that while the shelter ran out of food, the intake of puppies and dogs had not and there was no food to give them.

Turbert said the shelter as had about 20 adoptions since Friday.
