LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A Midlands man is facing a federal indictment for weapons possession in connection to the shooting death of a young girl at a birthday party earlier this year.

The indictment names 27-year old Warren McDaniel. He's facing two counts of knowingly possessing fire arms as a convicted felon.

Back in April, Lexington investigators say a child at a birthday party in Gaston got a hold of a high-powered gun in the trunk of a car. The gun fired, killing 7-year old Juliet Lynch.

Another child was also hurt.

Federal weapons investigators have determined McDaniel was in possession of that gun.
