COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Plans to give Columbia's Vista a new look continue to take shape.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts is planning 108 loft-like rooms for the corner of Lady and Lincoln Streets.

The company calls it "Aloft Columbia Downtown."

It will be part of new mixed-use developments that will include four thousand square feet of ground flood retail space.

"This is going to be a real gathering space for the artsy kind of crowd," said Fred Delk, executive director of Cola Development Corporation. "I think it's going to fit really well into the Vista."

The development is scheduled to open in January 2016.
