GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A social media movement known as Hidden Cash has hit the Upstate as a Greenville woman began hiding some of her own money in various downtown locations.

"I looked at a lot of places that might be fun to stash some cash," said the anonymous benefactress, who hid $20 inside the briefcase statue outside City Hall Wednesday.

Debbie Nissin "likes" the page on Facebook, and when she saw the clue posted on the page as to where the money was hidden, she knew it was in the briefcase.

"I was very surprised," said Nissin, thinking the money would already have been taken by the time she got there.

The donor said she just wants to help make someone's day, and hopes others will pay her acts of kindness forward.

"Anyone can do this, anyone," she said.

She also said she will be hiding more money downtown Friday. The clue will be posted on the Facebook page here.
