MONTGOMERY CO., AL (WSFA) -

Victims thrown from a vehicle during a crash face an almost certain death, but amazingly, the person ejected during a crash along U.S. Hwy. 231 Friday morning suffered only non-life-threatening injuries, confirms Alabama State Troopers.

Medical crews and first responders were called to the scene of the crash along U.S. Hwy. 231 at the U.S. 82 intersection around 10:20 a.m.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital.

Both north and southbound lanes of Hwy. 231 were delayed but have reopened near mile marker 105.

While the victim will survive, Troopers warn that it is very important to fasten seatbelts. It not only reduces the risk of injury or death, it's also state law.
