HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Two people told Huntsville police they were robbed after trying to buy an illegal substance.

It happened just before 6 p.m. Friday on the 2700 block of Scenic View Drive.

The victims told investigators they met a man at the park in order to buy drugs. They said he tried to pass off a fake substance, and when they refused to buy from him, he pulled a gun on them and demanded money.

The man reportedly then ran away from the scene with an unknown amount of cash. K-9 units were brought to the scene in an attempt to locate the man, but were not successful.

No injuries were reported; police are still investigating.
