GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers with the SC Highway Patrol said the driver of a moped was cited after crashing into a Greenlink passenger bus in Greenville County.

Emergency dispatchers confirmed the crash happened just after 1 p.m. Saturday in front of the Home Depot on South Pleasantburg Drive near Chalmers Road.

LCpl. Bill Rhyne with the SC Highway Patrol said the bus, with 9 passengers on board, was slowing to stop at a bus stop when the moped rear-ended the bus.

The moped driver was taken to the hospital with injuries but no one on the bus was injured, Rhyne said.

Rhyne said the moped driver, a 61-year-old Greenville man, was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
