Macon County authorities have made an arrest in the death of Randy Jermaine Jerido.

Macon County Sheriff David Warren confirms Derek Bailey, 19, from Tuskegee, has been arrested and charged with the murder.

The family of 29-year-old RJerido spoke to WSFA 12 News Monday about their loved one's death.

"We're trying to be strong," said Quartez Jerido, Randy's younger brother.

Quartez says his brother was shot "multiple times."

"He was full of energy," Quartez stated. "He loved to laugh and loved to eat. I was his personal chef."

Randy Jermaine Jerido was said to be a "free spirit" and didn't stay down for long. He worked odd jobs to make a living. He attended Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee.

The victim was found about seven miles away from the family home on Macon County Road 36. He was last seen Wednesday in the Franklin community of Macon County.

Jerido would have turned 30-years-old on Sept. 12.
