CULLMAN COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

State Senator Paul Bussman says the results are in after a company tested the mystery liquid seeping from a crypt at the Cullman Memory Gardens.

He said the liquid contains Boron, which was used in the past as part of the embalming process.

It can also be found in animal manure. Bussman said water draining from the roof "that contains animal manure" could be leaking through the walls of the crypt and to the bottom.

Now, Bussman said the Alabama Department of Public Health will test for formaldehyde. This will be paid for by the ADPH because of a possible health risk.

If that test comes back positive, or they determine the leakage is coming from a vault, Bussman said the vaults will have to be opened and evaluated.

"We are trying to do this process as quickly as possible so family members can again visit their loved ones or remove them to another resting place," Bussman said in a press release.
