MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A large tree fell Friday afternoon, heavily damaging a home in East Montgomery.

The owner of the home declined an on-camera interview with WSFA 12 News and asked that the exact address not be released due to the possibility of looting.

Neighbors said there were four people inside the home when the tree fell, but everyone escaped to safety. The neighbors said while they were not sure of the tree's exact age, they did know that it had started rotting at its roots.

While damage is extensive, it was not immediately known if the home will be deemed a total loss.
