Otters win third straight

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The Otters win their third straight tonight, with a 10-4 whipping, of the River City Rascals.

Evansville came into the game, trailing East Division leader, Washington, by just one game, for first place.

The Otters led 1-0, until the 4th, when the Rascals scored 4 runs; however, Andy McCauley's bunch came back with 4 of their own, to lead 5-4.

After making it 6-4, they then exploded for 4 more in the 8th, to salt it away, and the Otters go on to beat the Rascals, 10-4.

Preston Olson gets the win, striking out 11 River City batters.  Evansville struck out 15 as a team.

Shayne Houck went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, in the winning effort.

Washington also won tonight, so the Otters remain a game back out of first place in the East.
