MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Authorities say they've arrested a suspect in connection the weekend homicide of a man at the McGehee Park apartments on Governor's Drive in Montgomery.

Lamont Williams, 41, of Montgomery is charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Willie Tubner, Jr.

The deadly shooting happened around 5 p.m. Saturday. Tubner was pronounced dead on the scene.

The death investigation was upgraded to a homicide investigation after authorities learned the shooter and victim were involved in a dispute over money.

"We are going to do everything we can in Montgomery to teach kids about not turning to a life of crime," said District Attorney Daryl Bailey. "We are going to get involved in the schools, get involved in young peoples lives. But the other side of that message is if you do turn to a life of violent crime we are going to take you off the streets forever."

Currently, the suspect is being held at the Montgomery County Jail without bond.

This is Montgomery's 19th homicide of 2014.
