Does It Work: Torch Light

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

This week we are testing the Torch Light from Bell & Howell. It is the high tech portable light that's really big on brightness.

If you're looking to light up a room, this week's test may be your answer.

With 33 LED's, it's a flood light and a flashlight all in one, and because it's LED, you're promised 100,000 watts of light.

Three AA batteries will get you started. One click of the on button activates the flood light. Another click and the top flashlight shines bright.

Bear in mind, it's one or the other. Not both.

A magnetic base is supposed to allow easy attachment to magnetic surfaces, and it's so powerful it can lift up to 2.5 pounds.

However, we found that claim to be a little less attractive than advertised.

Back to the light itself, the flood light easily shone to our green wall from twenty feet away in studio B. And while the flashlight won't light up a dark room, the flood light has enough kick to do the job.

Now while I don't like the magnets, there is still a lot to like about the Torch light.

You can still hang this up to completely light up a room, which makes this a very useful tool to have in your emergency preparedness kit.

Don't like the magnets but still like the light overall, which is why it earns a yes on this week's Does It Work.

The Torch Light can be found locally for $10.
