MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (SKYNEWS/CNN) - An Australian hospital mistakenly sent out death notices for more than 200 living patients.

Reports say the faxes were automatically generated to each patient's general practitioner in July.

The notices were supposed to say that the patient had been released from the hospital.

Austin Hospital staff apologized for the mistake.

They blame the mix-up on human error.
