DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur police arrested a woman who allegedly fired a gun during an argument, the bullet striking the vehicle of another person trying to leave the area.

It happened late Wednesday night in the 2900 block of Wimberly Drive.

Officers said there had been an argument between several women, during which 34-year-old Shunetta Garth-Russell armed herself with a handgun.

Investigators said Garth-Russell fired several rounds toward the road. One of the bullets struck a vehicle occupied by 20-year-old Destiny Reed, who was attempting to leave the area.

Officers arrested Garth-Russell and charged her with shooting into an occupied vehicle. She was booked into the Decatur jail and transferred to the Morgan County Jail.
