JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Worley says the vote challenge over Jefferson County Commission District 2 seat is over.

Worley said Shelia Smoot supporter Ervin Hill failed to meet a noon deadline on Friday to produce a transcript and a $1,500 bond to challenge Smoots' 26 vote loss to incumbent commissioner Sandra Little Brown.

Worley says the State Democratic Executive Committee will not consider the challenge on Saturday in Montgomery.

Smoot told Fox6 News while she still questions if all votes were properly counted, she did not want a major floor fight within the party. Smoot and Hill are expected to have a news conference Monday on the matter.

Worley said there is a possibility of a court challenge but Smoot doubts that step will be taken.
