Two-car collision claims the life of elderly woman

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama State Troopers say a two-vehicle collision on Saturday claimed the life of an elderly woman.

Sgt. Steve Jarrett says Margaret Patea of Chelsea, 85, died when the vehicle in which she was a passenger collided with another vehicle. Officials say the crash occurred at 4:30 p.m. on U.S. 280 in Westover.

Troopers say they are continuing their investigation.
