MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Morgan County deputies stopped a vehicle for improper lights on Highway 67 in Florette on Thursday.

Deputies found multiple people in the vehicle. One of the subjects had felony warrants in Madison County and one of them had misdemeanor warrants in Arab.

Deputies detained those subjects and got consent to search the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and discovered a bag of “Spice”.

One of the subjects, Christopher Aaron Raines, 27, of Guntersville, claimed the spice. Deputies continued the search and discovered several more bags of spice hidden behind the carpet in the trunk of the vehicle.

Deputies also discovered a plastic bag in Raines’ wallet that contained a small amount of methamphetamine.

Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents were called and arrived on scene. Agents determined that the spice and meth belonged to Raines.

Agents weighed the spice and discovered it weighed approximately 92.1 grams. Agents arrested Raines and charged him with trafficking of a controlled substance analog and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine).

Raines was currently out on bond from a previous drug arrest. Judge Howell set his bonds at $202,500.00. Raines was taken to the Morgan County Jail.
