CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Suspect steals a Kids Unlimited charity jar

ROSSFORD, OHIO (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) -

It happened on Buck Rd., Rossford Police say a white male entered the Shell-True North gas station in the middle of the night and took off with a charity jar.

Seen in the surveillance video, a large male wearing a white t-shirt and dark gray or black cargo shorts takes the jar off the counter while the clerk is not there. He grabs the jar with his left hand and eventually puts in on the floor. He then hides the jar and walks out of the store.

The donation jar belongs to Kids Unlimited, an inner city after school and summer program. The Kids Unlimited runs programs inside TPS schools.

It is not known how much money he got away with.

Police say he is a large bald man with a dark beard. Sgt. Todd Kitzler says they are asking anyone that may be able to identify him to come forward.

"He's a very recognizable person," said Kitzler. "If he is local, someone in the area will know who he is and we really want the public to give us a call and give us his identity."

If you can identify this suspect call Rossford Police at 419-666-5230.
