ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Etowah County's Rescue Squad is searching for a possible drowning victim.

An Marine officer patrolling the Coosa River noticed something on SONAR that appeared to be the size and shape of a body.

Rescue divers have been in the water all afternoon trying to find whatever it is that SONAR picked up.

It's been going on this afternoon behind Forest River Apartments in Gadsden.

We've learned the rescue squad has called off its search for the day due to bad weather moving into Etowah County, and will re-evaluate the situation tomorrow.
