RAINBOW CITY, AL (WBRC) -

A Rainbow City woman who was reported as missing may now face charges.

Beth Dowdy Chapman, who hadn't been seen since August 8, has been the subject of an intense investigation.

Police say she arrived safely at her sister's home in Birmingham on Friday, August 15.

Rainbow City police said Chapman told them she had received money from an insurance claim and decided to go to Biloxi, Mississippi and New Orleans.

Last week, police said any calls made to Chapman's phone went straight to voicemail.

Next week, officers will consider charges against Chapman, including for the unauthorized use of a vehicle for failing to return a rental car.
