An Opelika man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for fatally stabbing one victim, and injuring another.

Lee County Circuit Judge Jacob Walker handed down the sentence to Kentarious Beasley on Monday, Aug. 18.

Beasley was convicted of manslaughter in the death of Gregory Moody, and attempted murder for wounding his brother, William Herbert Moody Dowdell.

Beasley's twin brother was also arrested in the April 2013 stabbing, but was not indicted.

While in court, Beasley apologized for what he did, and told the judge he is not a bad person.
