Patient flown to hospital after wreck in Gurley

GURLEY, AL (WAFF) -

One person was flown to the hospital after a wreck in Gurley on Wednesday morning.

State Troopers said a truck clipped the rear of an 18-wheeler on Highway 72 around 6 a.m.

The driver of the pickup truck had to be cut out of the cab and was trapped inside for more than 35 minutes.

MedFlight was dispatched to the scene and transported the patient to the hospital. Emergency workers said he was alert and breathing when he was transported.

The patient's name, according to state troopers, is Bradley Chandler of Grant. He remains in the hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
