HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - There are some safety concerns as to if hydrogen and liquid nitrogen pose any safety concerns after Thursday's explosion at Cimmaron.

According to about.com's chemistry page, nitrogen is non-toxic.

When nitrogen becomes a liquid, it is cold enough to cause severe frostbite if comes in contact with skin.

Also, adding a lot of nitrogen to the air reduces the amount of oxygen, so it needs to be used in a well ventilated area.

Hydrogen is also non-toxic, but is very flammable.

The main concern with hydrogen is the possibility of getting burned if it explodes or if there is a fire.
