TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Nyquil is awake.

After almost a full year since his last bout, Sahuaro High School grad Nick “Nyquil” Rhoads made his return to the Octagon Saturday night by winning the World Fighting Federation MMA Featherweight championship.

Rhoads (7-2) bested longtime nemesis Nick Piedmont (10-5-1) of Sahuarita by unanimous decision in the main event on an MMA fight card at Casino del Sol.

It was the third time the two had met inside the Octagon; each holding one victory.

Other winners on the night included Enrique “The Bully” Bejarano (170 pounds), Casey Ryan (185), Tucson's Joe “The Barber” Madrid (130), Octavio Castro (135), Arianne Christensen (130), Dante Patrick (170), Flowing Wells grad Sam Compton (200), Ramon Lopez (145) and Andres Ponce (155).
