HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Tuesday is National Dog Day, and we want to celebrate with you and your pets!

National Dog Day was created to bring public awareness to the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year.

It also acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring us comfort.

To celebrate, we want to see your dogs! Email your puppy pics to pix@waff.com or tweet them to @waff48.

And if you're looking to expand your family, make sure you check out your local shelter or rescue organization to find the perfect pet!
