Mahogany's closed for failing to pay taxes

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Mahogany's at the Banks was closed on Tuesday for failing to pay state sales taxes.

A pink sign posted to the door says the business is prohibited from making sales at the restaurant's location at 180 East Freedom Way.

Mahogany's owner Liz Roger's attorney said it will be a "matter of several days" for Mahogany's to pay the debt and insists the restaurant will reopen.

"This is a short term glitch. We expect to have it speedily resolved, reopened quickly with renovations to the restaurant and a brand new menu and the most successful general manager in Cincinnati's history."

Mahogany's has faced numerous issues at this location, including being in arrears on a development loan from the City of Cincinnati.
