Florence man indicted on theft charges

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation obtained an indictment for a Florence man accused of selling investments he wasn't licensed to offer to a Wayne County couple.

TBI Special Agents began investigating Roy Allen Tucker on Nov. 18, 2013, at the request of the 22nd District Attorney General Mike Bottoms. 

During the course of the investigation, agents received information that Tucker convinced a Wayne County coup to invest in Certificates of Deposit that he was not licensed for in 2013. Agents also discovered that Tucker never invested the victims money. 

Tucker later returned $100,000 of the victims money, but has not paid back the remainder of more than &164,000. 

The Wayne County Grand Jury returned an indictment for Tucker, charging him with one count of Theft.

Tucker was booked into the Wayne County Jail. 

Bond has not been set at this time.
