MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The woman who authorities say was carjacked by Matthew Wright moments after he allegedly shot Montgomery Police Officer Robert Hubbard Sunday spoke to WSFA 12 News about the incident.

Bernadette Washington says she heard the gunshots coming from inside the Eastern Boulevard Walmart around 8:30 a.m. and was halfway into her car when she says Wright got to her vehicle.

Police believe Wright took Washington's car, a gray Chrysler 300 sedan, at gunpoint and fled the state. He crashed it in Louisiana just before stealing another vehicle in his attempts to flee.

Washington says she has no idea what's going on with her vehicle now. She's said she's worried about getting her personal information and belongings back.

"I'm just still worried about in that seven hour time frame that he actually had my information," Washington said. "Is it in the possession of the Louisiana Police Department or is it in the possession of somebody else, you know with my house keys and everything?

Washington said she isn't worried about the car, but she wants all of her personal effects and information secure and returned. She says she knows more about the case from what she's seen on TV news than from police. "A phone call would be nice," she said. "My insurance can't do anything and I'm in limbo."

The woman says she's shaky from the ordeal and is having family stay with her while her nerves calm.

Wright was taken into custody and the vehicle impounded in Louisiana. It's unknown when either will be returned to Alabama where Wright will face multiple felony charges in the shooting of Officer Hubbard.

Officer Hubbard, meanwhile, is recovering from injuries to the neck and an arm at a Montgomery hospital.
