A fight among teenagers is one thing. But when it happens in a public place and involves a gun, it puts everyone at risk. That's what happened Saturday night at a local shopping center. Police say a gun was discharged inside Montgomery Mall.

According to police, two teenagers were fighting near the Cinnabon store, when one of them pulled a gun. The other slapped it from her hand, sending the gun to the floor.

Then, a 13-year-old picked it up and it accidentally went off. One round was discharged, but thankfully no one was hit. None of the teenagers' names were released. The two who possessed the gun were arrested and charged with malice and reckless endangerment.

The incident seems to be just the latest in a series of problems for Montgomery Mall. Last Thursday, a charity appearance by rap artist Ludacris prompted out of control crowds.

At least two fights reportedly broke out, forcing mall officials to stop the event just 15 minutes after it began. A mall spokesperson expressed regret over the incident.

Last year, Montgomery Mall experienced similar fighting in its parking lot, but police were able to put a stop to that. Neither the mall nor police would agree to an interview with WSFA 12 News over the weekend.
