MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The River Region United Way announced on Thursday morning the mid-campaign totals raised so far for this year. The totals were announced during a breakfast, which was held in Montgomery.
Each year the United Way raises funds from support of the community. Those funds help support programs and services across the River Region and United Way's 40 plus affiliate agencies. Nearly 135,000 lives are impacted by the donations with last years campaign raising $5,194,428 by more than 10,000 individuals and corporate contributors.
At Thursday's announcement Sean Johnson, United Way board member and President of the Central Alabama Area of Regions, spoke about the totals and what the campaign has planned for the rest of the year.
