MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after the person who was shot on Christmas Eve died as a result of their wounds.
Officers responded to the 2300 block of East Fifth Street on Wednesday on a call of a subject being shot.
At the scene, officers discovered 36-year-old Shenita James suffering from a gunshot wound. James was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was later pronounced dead.
There is no one in custody at this time as police continue to investigate.
