MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Grammy award winning artist Patti LaBelle will perform this Saturday in concert at Alabama State University as part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March. Luke Wade of NBC's 'The Voice' will open the show.
During the concert LaBelle will present the Freedom Award to civil rights activist John Lewis. Lewis is known for his participation in the 1965 'Bloody Sunday' March. He now serves as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing the state of Georgia.
