MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - One Montgomery business building is recovering after an early morning fire broke out Monday, according to fire officials.

Spokesperson Sergeant Omori Whiting says, the fire occurred at 2720 E. Gunter Park Drive, better known as the location of Steris. When firefighters arrived to the large industrial plant, light smoke was seen coming from the rear of the structure. Units gained entry and quickly extinguished the fire.

Investigators say the fire was in the duct work of a large metal grinding machine filter system.

Sergeant Whiting says all employees were out of the building prior to the Montgomery Fire Department's arrival. No injuries were reported to employees or fire personnel. Although the work area was filled with smoke, fire damage was confined to the object of origin.
