MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - More than 2,500 people laced up their racing shoes in downtown Montgomery Saturday morning for a good cause.
This was the Joy to Life Foundation's 14th annual Walk of Life. The organization raises money primarily for women and men in Alabama who can't afford medical services such as mammograms.
The Walk of Life is the primary fundraising event for the organization, and they still need your help to provides these life-saving services.
"We're screening women in every county of this state no matter what their age, and we know last year alone that there were 200 lives saved so from 2001 until now it's really been a life saver," said Joy to Life co-founder and director Joy Blondheim.
