Elmore Co. Schools take part in summer feeding program

The Elmore County School System is taking part for the first time in the summer feeding program. All meals are prepared at Wetumpka Middle School.

ALL kids 18 years or under can eat FREE (Also can include 19-year-olds still enrolled in school and adults with special needs)

There are numerous sites participating in Summer Feeding for 2015 in Elmore County – the number of programs vary from week to week depending on their schedule.

WES, CES, ARIS – summer camps in June

EMS, HMS – 21st Century Program

ECHS - Athletics

SEHS Summer School and Athletics

WMS football, dance, cheer, band

WHS - Athletics

Wetumpka Boys & Girls Club

Millbrook and Wetumpka Head Start

Between 1,000 and 1,700 children will receive free meals each day. Breakfast meals include a grain, milk, and fruit or fruit juice. Lunch meals include a meat, grain, fruit and/or vegetable, and milk.

The program began on May 26th and will run until August 7th.
