Dr. Sanders Benkwith received his undergraduate degree from the University of the South and his Medical Degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1973.
He served an internship and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Utah Medical Center, where he performed retina physiology research under Thomas Ogden, M.D., PhD. Dr. Sanders Benkwith joined his father, the late Karl B. Benkwith, M.D., in practice in 1977. Dr. Benkwith is board-certified in Ophthalmology and is a past president of the Montgomery County Medical Society.

Dr. Glassner received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and his Medical Degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1981.
He served his internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego and his residency in ophthalmology at the Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham. Dr. Glassner joined Montgomery Eye Physicians in 1985. Dr. Glassner is board-certified in Ophthalmology.
|Tom Lyle Mitchell, Jr., M.D.|
Dr. Mitchell is a Cum Laude graduate in bio-medical engineering from the University of Tennessee and the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He received his Medical Degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1981.
He completed his internship in internal medicine at Brigham &amp; Women's Hospital in Boston. Prior to completing a residency in ophthalmology at the Eye Foundation Hospital, UAB Medical Center, Birmingham, he practiced as an emergency room physician. Dr. Mitchell is board-certified in ophthalmology and joined Montgomery Eye Physicians in 1987.

Dr. Bradford received his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University Montgomery in 1976 and completed post-graduate work in 1980. In 1984 he received his optometry degree from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Prior to joining Montgomery Eye Physicians in 1997, Dr. Bradford was in private practice in Montgomery. Dr. Bradford is board-certified in optometry.

Primary Care Optometrist
Dr. Meadows received his Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Upon graduation he entered the four-year University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where he attained his Doctorate of Optometry in June 1999.
|He served internships at both Tuscaloosa Veterans Administration Medical Center and Montgomery Eye Physicians (MEP), with concentrations in primary care optometry and ocular disease.|
Board-certified in optometry, Dr. Meadows practices primary care optometry at MEP's Prattville Eye Center. He is a member of the Alabama Optometric Association.
A native of Prattville, Dr. Meadows is an active church member and an avid sports and outdoor enthusiast.

Cornea and Refractive Surgery
Dr. Swan graduated Cum Laude in molecular biology from Vanderbilt University and received his Medical Degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1985.
He completed his internship at the Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, and his residency in ophthalmology at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. In addition, he completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Schools Affiliated Hospitals in Dallas. He served on the faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center before joining Montgomery Eye Physicians in 1991. Dr. Swan is board-certified in ophthalmology.

Dr. Setzer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry in 1975.
|A frequent lecturer, he served as a highly recognized Assistant Professor for the UAB School of Optometry. Dr. Setzer also served as Director of Continuing Education for the school before entering private practice from 1981 to 1991 with Montgomery Eye Physicians contact lens specialist Dave W. Welch, O.D. |
Prior to joining Montgomery Eye Physicians, Dr. Setzer was director of The Refractive Surgery Center in Birmingham, Alabama, and the assistant center director with Birmingham Omega Health Systems, Inc. He is board-certified in optometry, a Fellow with the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of both the American Optometric Association and Zone III Optometric Society of Alabama.
