MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Leigh Anne Tuohy, the inspirational subject of the best-selling book and Oscar-winning movie adaptation The Blind Side will speak at the AUM Business Breakfast on Friday, October 9 at 7:30 a.m. at the RSA Activity Center in downtown Montgomery.

Tuohy is the best-selling author of the book Making It Happen and matriarch of the Tuohy family, who have dedicated their lives to inspiring hope and genuine acts of generosity for deserving members of our communities.

The story of how Leigh Anne and her family opened their doors and hearts to Michael Oher, a black teen who was homeless and illiterate, and the effect of that experience on her life and the lives of her family, was the subject of author Michael Lewis' book, The Blind Side. The movie adaptation of the book earned numerous award nominations including the Oscar's Picture of the Year. Sandra Bullock, who played Tuohy in the movie, won best performance awards from the Oscars, the Golden Globes, and The Screen Actors Guild, among others.
